Abstract

We are witnessing a new revolution in connected and cognitive computing. Internet of Things (IoT) is a networking infrastructure for cyber-physical systems. With IoT, physical objects should be seamlessly integrated into an Internet-like system so that the physical objects and cyber-agents can interact each other in order to achieve mission-critical objectives. Given its tremendous application potential, IoT and connected devices have become popular in recent years . The next generation of networks will utilize a wide variety of resources with significant sensing and cognitive capabilities. Such networks will extend beyond physically linked computers to include connected devices, biological devices, cognitive, semantic, and social networks.

In this talk, I will first focus on research related to IoT and address principles that should guide research and development of IoT. I will then present several approaches that may lead to implementation of IoT. Finally, I will discuss critical innovation in the area of IoT and Cloud IoT.

If you can read this text, it means you are not experiencing the Plone design at its best. Plone makes heavy use of CSS, which means it is accessible to any internet browser, but the design needs a standards-compliant browser to look like we intended it. Just so you know ;)
